Frequently Asked Questions
-
There are two ways to begin, depending on where you're at:
Want to chat first? You can book a 15-minute consult through PracticeQ using the link below, or email info@comfortandsolutions.com to schedule one. It's a chance to ask questions and make sure we're a good fit. https://comfortsolutions.intakeq.com/booking
Consults are booked through PracticeQ because Headway's booking page doesn't offer them. If you'd like to move forward after that, I'll get you set up in Headway to schedule your initial evaluation.
Ready to schedule an evaluation? Click the Book Now button in the top right corner of this page. It takes you straight to my Headway profile, where you can book your initial evaluation.
-
A few things need to be completed before we can meet:
Headway paperwork. Headway will send you their own intake forms.
PracticeQ paperwork. I'll send my own intake forms through PracticeQ.
Payment method. Add a form of payment to your Headway account. All insurance and payment is handled through Headway.
Your appointment can't take place until all three are done, so I'd recommend finishing them as soon as you book. It normally takes about 20 minutes or so to complete all the paperwork depending on your personal history.
On the day of your visit, you'll join through PracticeQ, not Headway. The link to join the telehealth call through PracticeQ will come through your emails or you can access it through your PracticeQ Client Portal account. Your records and session notes are also kept securely in PracticeQ.

I'm currently licensed to provide care in Arizona, with Washington licensure in progress. I have plans to expand into additional states over time, so if you don't see your state listed yet, feel free to check back or reach out!
-
No, Comfort & Solutions Psychiatry is a telehealth-only practice. All appointments are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform, so you can be seen from home or wherever is private & comfortable for you.
-
I do! I'm currently in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna, and Curative through Headway, with Optum plans (Oscar, Oxford, and United Healthcare) and Independence Blue Cross Pennsylvania coming soon. Coverage varies by plan, so I'd recommend checking your specific benefits before your first visit. If your plan isn't listed or you'd rather not use insurance, paying directly is always an option, with a superbill available afterward in case you'd like to seek reimbursement on your own.
-
A superbill is a detailed receipt of your visit that you can submit to your insurance company yourself for possible out-of-network reimbursement. I provide one after each visit upon request; whether & how much you're reimbursed depends entirely on your specific insurance plan.

I treat a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, & treatment-resistant conditions, among others. If you're not sure whether I'm a good fit for what you're dealing with, the free 15-minute consultation is a great place to start.
-
Both cover the same ground: your current concerns, medical & psychiatric history, & screening to help clarify what's going on. The 90-minute option simply gives us extra room if you have a more complex history, a lot you want to cover, or you'd just rather not feel rushed. If you're not sure which fits, feel free to reach out before booking & I'm happy to help you decide.
-
Yes, when clinically appropriate. Because these medications require extra safeguards, prescriptions are written to last only until your next follow-up, early refills aren't provided, & I ask that you use a single consistent pharmacy & prescriber. I also review your state's prescription monitoring program as part of responsible prescribing. These policies are in place to keep your care safe & consistent.
-
Just a private, comfortable space & a device with a working camera, microphone, & stable internet connection. As of now I am licensed to see patients in the state of Arizona and am in the process of getting licensed in Washington. You'll also need to be physically located in one of those states at the time of your appointment.
-
I have immediate availability but dates and times may vary. I recommend booking your free consultation or evaluation as soon as you're ready, appointment times fill up, & I want to get you started as quickly as possible.
-
No. This practice is not equipped for emergencies or crisis situations. If you're experiencing a mental health emergency, please call or text 988, call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room right away.
-
I see children ages 10 & up, teens, & adults. If your child is under age 10, I'd recommend booking a consult first so we can determine together whether I'm the right fit, otherwise, I'm happy to offer recommendations for other practices that may be a better match. Since I'm a telehealth-only provider & don't offer in-person care, I'm also happy to provide practice location recommendations depending on your state & area if in-person care ends up being the better route for your child.
-
I incorporate psychotherapeutic techniques & supportive counseling into your visits, but I'm not a licensed therapist, & this practice doesn't offer standalone talk-therapy sessions. If ongoing, structured psychotherapy is something you're looking for, I may recommend working with a licensed therapist alongside, or in addition to, your care here.
-
Supplements may be discussed as part of your treatment plan, whether alongside a medication or as a standalone option, & are always optional, never a required part of your care. This is actually one of the reasons I chose not to work with insurance: supplement recommendations often aren't something insurance will reimburse for, so working outside that model lets me offer them as a genuine option for you. Lab work is a bit different: depending on your medications & personal medical history, certain labs may be required to ensure your care is safe & appropriate.
-
Appointments need to be canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations or reschedules made within 24 hours of your appointment, as well as no-shows, are subject to a $100 fee.
-
All payments are processed securely through Headway, whether you're using insurance or paying directly. You'll add a card to your Headway account, and any copay, coinsurance, deductible, or self-pay amount is charged after each visit. Major credit and debit cards are accepted, as well as FSA/HSA cards.

Yes. Everything you share is protected under HIPAA and state confidentiality law. Information is only released with your written consent, except in rare situations required by law, such as an immediate safety concern. I'll always aim to discuss this with you directly whenever possible.
Your visits, records, and clinical notes are kept in PracticeQ, a secure, HIPAA-compliant health record system, and appointments are held through PracticeQ as well. Billing is handled separately through Headway, which is also HIPAA-compliant. Before your first visit, you'll review and sign a Notice of Privacy Practices through Headway, which explains how your information is used and protected. If you use insurance, Headway shares only what's needed to process your claim, such as dates of service, visit type, and diagnosis codes, with your insurance company. Your session details and notes stay private.
